Chaya has been an artist all of her life, but it wasn't until 1992 that she began taking it seriously as a career. She attended many art classes both at local art studios and Howard Community College wherein she learned about painting, drawing, pottery, and graphic design. She also studied art at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, MD.

Chaya is teaching art classes and works in the gallary at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD.

Chaya shows her work at various locations in Howard County and Baltimore. She has a studio in Brewers Hill, Baltimore City, MD.
